A critically-endangered Przewalski’s horse was recently born at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park! This species was considered extinct in the wild until 1996.
This foal is the first to be born at the park since 2014 and is one of only four born in North America in the past year.

📉Decline in Cancer Deaths:
Across West Africa and India, they've almost completely eradicated the Guinea Worm disease. US cancer deaths have dropped by 33% since 1991, saving a whopping 3.8 million lives! According to the American Cancer Society, better treatments, reduced smoking, and earlier detection methods have contributed to this significant decrease.

Between 2019 and 2020, cancer death rates dropped by 1.5%, and the HPV vaccine is being credited for a big drop in cervical cancer rates among women in their 30s. According to a recent report, these death rates are not only falling but 5-year survival rates for cancer diagnoses have increased by a whopping 68% between 2012 and 2018.

In Assam, India, the state's forestry and police departments have reported that rhinos were not lost to poaching in 2022, for the first time since 1977. The new Chief Minister had set out to put a stop to it 20 months prior. Assam is one of the world's richest biodiversity zones and contains several national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.
